What This Fabric Is

This is a hyaluronic-acid functionalized nonwoven for sheet masks. The HA is carried in the fabric itself rather than being dosed only into the serum that soaks it, so the sheet starts delivering humectant from first contact and keeps holding it through a 15–20 minute wear.

That distinction matters commercially. When the active sits in the sheet, the mask is not interchangeable with any other carrier — the fabric becomes part of the product story, not a cost line. It is the construction most often specified for hydrating SKUs, sleeping masks, and professional infusion treatments where the sheet is left on longer than a retail mask.

Why Brands Specify It

• Hydration from the first minute. The sheet is already humectant-loaded before it meets your essence, so the wearer feels slip and moisture immediately rather than after the serum migrates into the web.
• Higher serum retention per sheet. A functionalized web holds more fluid at the same grammage than an untreated one, which lets you hit a 25–30 ml dose without a heavier, stiffer sheet.
• A defensible point of difference. 'HA in the fabric' is a claim a competitor selling plain spunlace cannot copy by changing a label. It supports a premium price band.
• Works with light essences. Because the fabric contributes body, you are not forced into a high-viscosity formula just to keep the sheet wet.

Formulation and Handling Notes

• It is hygroscopic. Keep rolls sealed and store below 60% RH. An open roll picks up atmospheric moisture, which shows up later as blocking and poor unwind on the packing line.
• Allow a longer soak. Functionalized webs wet out more slowly than plain spunlace. A 30–40 second full immersion is a safer starting point than the 15–20 seconds used for standard sheet stock.
• Do not print a percentage on pack without the test method. If your label says 'hyaluronic acid' we will state the add-on and the assay method on the spec sheet so the claim is auditable. A number without a method is the first thing a distributor will challenge.

FAQ

Is the hyaluronic acid in the fabric or in the serum?

In the fabric. Your filling line still adds serum as normal. The two are complementary: the fabric carries HA at the interface with skin, the serum carries the rest of the formula.

Can we state a specific HA percentage on our packaging?

Yes, once the add-on level is fixed on the spec sheet and the assay method is agreed. We would rather agree the number with you up front than have you discover a mismatch at the distributor audit.

Does it work with a plain water soak?

Yes. That is exactly how it is used in professional treatments — water or a simple essence is enough for the sheet to perform.
